How much time will it take per week to own my PR in-house?

PR is a cost-effective way to promote your business, drive brand awareness and increase revenue. However, it does require a consistent commitment of time to see results.

When considering whether to own your PR in-house, we recommend dedicating a minimum of 4 hours per week to PR. This needs to be a protected and non-negotiable time in your calendar: PR cannot fall to the bottom of your to-do list as then you’re unlikely to pitch and ultimately secure coverage.

Your dedicated PR time could involve proactively pitching story ideas to journalists, devising new story and angle ideas or researching new publications to pitch to in your future outreach.

By blocking time each week, you’ll keep your PR top of mind, have a more consistent eye across the media landscape and be in a stronger position to jump on a lead.

However, given PR is a proactive craft, the more time you dedicate to it, the more you’ll get out of it.
