After a decade in the wine industry with Champagne Devaux and Moët Hennessy, Bethan became frustrated by the alcohol-free options available during her first pregnancy. Rather than recreating alcohol, she set out to capture the ritual and enjoyment of sharing a great drink.

Two years of refining recipes at her kitchen table led to Mother Root, now the UK's fastest-growing drinks company and 11th on the Time Top 100. Juliet was keen to ask Bethan what it took to go from kitchen-table experiments to going on Dragons' Den and securing investment from Steven Bartlett.
